I've always wondered if there is any truth to the claim that vodka can be beneficial. For example, in our family, my grandfather always said that a shot before bed helps with colds and keeps you warm in winter. At the same time, doctors constantly say that alcohol harms the body, even in small doses. Where is the truth in this? Or are these just old myths that are passed down from generation to generation?

Good question! In Poland, too, there is a belief that vodka helps with colds, especially if mixed with honey or pepper. Of course, this is more tradition than a proven method. Some people believe that vodka helps digestion if you drink a little during a feast. But it's important to realize that the benefits of alcohol are controversial. I came across an interesting article that elaborates on this: https://www.lex.vodka/. I think a lot depends on the amount and the culture of consumption.
